Dr. Abhijat Seth
Dr. Abhijat Sheth has post-graduation in Cardiothoracic Surgery from Sheth KM School of Postgraduate Medicine and Research, Ahmedabad. He extensively worked as an academician at various medical colleges in Ahmedabad. In 1998, he went to UK for further training in Cardiothoracic Surgery where he worked as a Senior House Officer and Registrar in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle. He obtained his FRCS in General Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow in 2000. Since 2001 his main place of work has been in the Cardiothoracic Department of St George’s Hospital NHS Trust in London where he has worked with the eminent cardiothoracic consultant Professor Brendan P Madden.
Abhishek Kapoor in his career span has been associated with PriceWater House Coopers, Ernst & Young, American Appraisal and Deloitte with the strategy consulting and merger and acquisition valuation practice. After acquiring his MBA degree he has worked with Davita, the largest Kidney dialysis chain, in the United States of America, before returning to Kanpur to assist Regency Healthcare in expanding and achieving its vision. Abhishek’s vision was to reach tertiary healthcare to every doorstep in U. P, break barriers of the medical fraternity and provide advanced treatment solutions. With new strategies put in place the group has secured funding towards expansion and Regency graduated from Regency Hospitals to Regency Healthcare; grew in numbers also, to five facilities. Regency today provides a comprehensive cancer treatment; dialysis centre; is soon to launch a south Kanpur multi-specialty unit in Govind Nagar and is planned for an expansion outside Kanpur in the future.
Alok Kumar is a UP (Uttar Pradesh) cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1993 batch. He has a B.Tech. in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and a Masters degree in public policy from the Woodrow Wilson School, Princeton University. He is currently working as Adviser (Health & Nutrition, Financial Resources, and Administration) at the NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India) – the apex policy think tank for the Government of India.

Amit Mookim is the Treasurer, NATHEALTH and Managing Director, IQVIA. He has had a career spanning over 19 years with extensive work across Healthcare, Technology & Analytics and Private Equity Advisory. He became one of the youngest Partners and Sector Head at KPMG, leading their Strategy and PE Advisory Practice in India, across Financial Services, IT/ITeS, Real Estate, Food with a special focus on Healthcare. He has also worked with International Healthcare businesses to help them enter & set up in India, advised Indian corporations on new Healthcare businesses, helped healthcare start-ups raise money & led International JVs and partnerships for healthcare companies. Amit has done his bachelor’s in economics from University of Kolkata and his MBA from FMS, Delhi. Amit believes that spirituality and fitness are the key aspects for personality development. He is an amateur marathon runner and coaches’ entrepreneurs on managing stress while being centred in spirituality.
Dr Amit Shah
Dr Shah is Deputy Director, Health at USAID. He has extensive experience in the development sector having worked closely with a wide array of stakeholders in India including funding agencies, UN organizations, Government of India’s (GOI) Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), NITI Aayog, various state governments, international and local NGOs, corporate sector, professional medical associations, academia, and local communities.
Anjani is Deputy Director for Strategy and Management for the India Country Office of the Gates Foundation with experience in investments in India and Africa across multiple sectors such as technology, agriculture, finance and education. He worked in commercial and investment banking for several years and is most interested in leveraging innovation and investments in private sector to drive large scale impact.
Dr. Anoop Amarnath
One of the few Geriatricians in the country, Dr Amarnath is a gold medallist trained in the UK. He has specialized in Geriatric Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians, London. He has extensive experience in the field and has worked in various hospitals across UK, including St. James Hospital, Leeds; York Hospitals, North Yorkshire; Hull Royal Infirmary, Hull and Sunderland Royal Hospital. He is also one of the very few to sub-specialize in Geriatric Nephrology- the American Society of Nephrology awarded him a certificate during their annual conference in 2009, in San Diego, US.
Anurag Awasthi has over 10 years in accounting and audit support roles across not-for-profit, Hospitality & Education sectors. He has multi-functional experience across roles in financial accounting & reporting, budgeting, cost controls, audit preparation, report writing and business process improvements. Dr. Arvind Lal, an Indian pathologist, medical administrator and the chairman and managing director of Dr Lal PathLabs, a medical diagnostic centre in Delhi. A medical graduate and a medical academic, he has succeeded in creating an innovative modernized Indian medical diagnostics and developing the plan for and executing the first Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in the field of laboratory testing in India. His stellar achievements have been awarded by the rank of a Brigadier in the Indian Armed Forces, an honorary rank conferred by the Army. He has also been awarded the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2009, for his contributions to the field of medicine by the Government of India.
Asaad Joubran is incharge of Business development, Zipline International. He was earlier Founder and CEO, Albatross Power Limited, a company that is focused on the development of new projects in the energy sector and the industry in the Middle East region, providing consultancy services for global and regional companies including governments on the development of energy and industrial projects.
Ashok Kumar Kakkar is the Senior Managing Director for Varian Medical Systems responsible for the business operations in the South Asia region in the Indian subcontinent. Ashok has a work experience spanning over 28 years in the healthcare industry. He has been in variety of leadership roles in global companies like Siemens Healthcare and GE Healthcare before joining Varian Medical Systems in April 2012. He is an active participant in the trade associations, currently the Co-Chair of FICCI – Healthcare Services Committee and the past Chairman of FICCI Medical Electronics forum. Ashok is an electronics engineer with MBA in technology management from Deakin University, Australia. His interests include reading, long distance running, dramatics and spirituality.

Ashwin Raguraman USD 100 Mn. venture capital fund investing in early stage innovation driven technology start-ups in India. Investing for a year now, the fund has made six investments to date. Prior to this, he was the founder and Chief Operating Officer at the India Innovation Fund, an early stage venture capital fund, supporting IP driven start-ups in the ICT and Life Science sectors. The fund was set up in 2010 and achieved a full exit from its portfolio in 2016. Notable investments include Mitra Biotech and Sedemac Mechatronics. Apart from driving this flagship program, Ashwin has been intimately involved in the start-up ecosystem in India earlier heading the Innovation Initiative at NASSCOM and drove the mandate to increase innovation in the Indian IT Industry. He was also responsible for the creation of a Special Interest Group on Embedded Systems, an Auto Component-Information Technology cluster and the NASSCOM Innovation Awards. Badhri Iyengar is the Managing Director for Smith & Nephew, South Asia and a board member of Sushrut Adler, local manufacturing company, acquired by Smith & Nephew global. Prior to this Badhri has worked as Regional Director, Boston Scientific - Middle East, Africa & Turkey. He is a veteran in medical devices and diagnostics with over 23+ years of solid experience across Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Change Management, L&A, and Strategy. Mr Badhri has worked across business life cycles managing organisations through their start up, growth, maturity and even turning around declining businesses around in diverse environments and cultures spanning South Asia and MEA regions. Mr Badhri is a thought leader and has represented the medical device industry in several forums with various stakeholders like the ministries of health and large provider groups in South Asia and GCC to help shape the healthcare industry and ecosystem. Mr Badhri was also an Executive Board Member of Mecomed – the medical device association for MENA. He is currently Chairman - FICCI MDF, board member in MTaI and on the Governing Council of Nathealth. Mr Badhri is a Postgraduate Biomedical engineer and an MBA from the University of Bombay, with keen interests in leadership, people development, and strategy.
Professor Balram Bhargava, Secretary, Department of Health Research, (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare), Government of India and Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) joined on 16th April 2018. Prof. Bhargava is Professor of Cardiology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi and serves as the Executive Director for Stanford India Bio design Centre, School of International Bio design (SiB). Professor (Dr) Balram Bhargava is an outstanding cardiologist, one of the foremost leaders in biomedical innovation, public health, medical education and medical research. He has been awarded the SN Bose Centenary award by the Indian National Science Congress and National Academy of Sciences Platinum Jubilee Award, Tata Innovation Fellowship and Vasvik Award for Biomedical Technology Innovation, Ranbaxy Award and the OP Bhasin Award in the field of Health and Medical Sciences. He is the Founding, Editor in Chief of the British Medical Journal Innovations (BMJi). He has been awarded the ‘Padma Shri’ high civilian award by the Honorable President of India and the UNESCO Equatorial Guinea International Prize for research in Life Sciences at Paris.
Dr. Chandy Abraham is the CEO for ITC's Healthcare Project in India. He was formerly CEO and Head of Medical Services for the Health City, Cayman Islands. He has had extensive experience of working in both clinical as well as academic settings in India and the United Kingdom. He completed his undergraduate medical and postgraduate studies in General Surgery from the Christian Medical College, Vellore. He was subsequently appointed as the Director of the Redfern Memorial Hospital in South India in 1994. He then joined the Baptist hospital at Bangalore where he was appointed the Head of Surgery, Chief of Medical Staff and later the Deputy Director of the institution. He was appointed Professor of Surgery in the Malaysian Science University’s Medical school based at Bangalore. He is a postgraduate teacher in General Surgery for the National Board in Surgery. However, his area of interest has been in “lean management in healthcare” and holds certification in lean management from the Cardiff University. He also has a keen interest in "Healthcare Innovation" using Design Thinking formats to drive changes in the Healthcare industry. Dr. Abraham was the first CEO and Head of Medical services at Healthcity Cayman Islands and was involved in getting this startup fully up to speed and operationalized.

He has twenty-five years of rich experience in healthcare domain, in leading business and change management across MNCs, start-ups, joint ventures and re-engineering organizations. He was the Managing Director of Medicover Healthcare, a leading European Healthcare MNC. He was earlier Managing Director of Bourn Hall International a European Healthcare MNC, Chief Executive Officer of Patni Healthcare Ltd, Founder Director of Medfort Hospitals, Business Head-South Asia for Bausch & Lomb and Business Director for Johnson & Johnson Medical. Gautam Khanna is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the PD Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Centre and Head of the Hinduja College of Nursing, Mumbai, India. He is also serving as the Vice President for the Association of Hospitals (AOH), Maharashtra. He is responsible for leading the Hinduja Group to the top positions in the healthcare vertical in our country. With a career spanning for over 22years, he has held various positions. He was the Executive Director of 3M and was responsible for its healthcare business for India and Sri Lanka, including previous exposure in International Markets. He has also been Chairman of FICCI MDF (Medical Device Forum); Co-Chairman, AMCHAM Medical Equipment and Device Committee and Chair, India Working Group, ADVAMED, USA.
Dr Girdhar J. Gyani,
AHPI represents vast majority of healthcare providers in India, through network of state level chapters. It works closely with key stakeholders such as the Government, Member Hospitals and the community towards the goal of Universal Health Coverage. Before joining AHPI, Dr Gyani was Secretary General, Quality Council of India (2003-2012), an apex national body responsible for establishing and operating national accreditation structure and promoting quality in all walks of life. He has been instrumental in establishing of National Accreditation structure for Hospitals (NABH), bringing patient safety & healthcare quality in the forefront for operating of hospitals in India. NABH has emerged as key criteria for evaluation of hospitals for variety of government and private paying schemes. Healthcare Executive magazine in its January 2015 issue complimented Dr Gyani as the ‘CHANAKYA’ of Quality.
Mr. Hari Thalapalli is a multi-disciplinary leader with close to three decades of experience in the Technology Services space. Prior to joining Call Health, Hari was with Tech Mahindra, where he provided leadership to critical business process areas including business consulting, digital marketing, CRM, supply chain management, etc. In addition, he provided leadership to the Global Marketing Function and was instrumental in Tech Mahindra's brand positioning over the last six years. His prior roles involved building robust HR practices, through which he helped raise the performance bar and helped the organization scale newer heights. He has won many accolades, including the CPO of the Year Award from Bloomberg in 2010.
Dr. Harsh Mahajan
He is a former president of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA) and the director of the Department of Nuclear Medicine and Bone Densitometry at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. He has served as the honorary radiologist to the President of India and as the Honorary Consultant to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He has published several articles on clinical radiography and other medical topics. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri in 2002
Dr. Harsh Vardhan
Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Science & Technology and Earth Sciences has a long and distinguished record of public service, leaving his indelible mark in all fields of activity undertaken. An ENT surgeon by profession to start with, Dr Vardhan branched out into public life in 1993, when he got elected to the Delhi Assembly from the Krishna Nagar constituency in east Delhi. This marked the beginning of a scintillating run in electoral politics, which saw him getting elected to the Delhi Assembly for four more successive terms (1998, 2003, 2008 and 2013) and to the Lok Sabha in 2014 from the Chandni Chowk constituency in Delhi. His track record as a Union Minister from 2014 onwards has been stellar. At the helm of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Dr Vardhan’s focus has been to motivate the country’s scientists to come up with new technologies, processes and products that can provide innovative solutions to people’s problems.
Himanshu Baid occupies the position of Chief Executive Officer, Director & Joint MD at Poly Medicure Ltd. He received an undergraduate degree from Karnatak University.
Yasha Huang is a senior regulatory policy specialist with extensive experience in medical devices and pharmaceuticals. She was most recently working at the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) based in Beijing, where she was actively involved in global governance and stakeholder engagement, collaborating with international organizations, government agencies, NGOs, academia, donors, and industry. Within APACMed, Yasha is driving the regulatory initiatives for patients’ better access to medical technologies by leading the regulatory committee and partnering with key stakeholders including government agencies, local associations, think tanks, medical device regulatory harmonization and convergence platforms such as the International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF), the Asian Harmonization Working Party (AHWP) conferences, and the APEC Regulatory Harmonization Steering Committee (RHSC). She is currently the Medical Devices Steering Committee member for Duke-NUS Centre of Regulatory Excellence (CoRE), as well as the DIA Singapore Annual meeting programme committee member. Yasha holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Dartmouth College, U.S. with a Fulbright scholarship. She has lived and worked in the United States, China, and Singapore.
Dr. Indu Bhushan
Dr. Indu Bhushan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB - PMJAY) and the National Health Authority (NHA), Government of India, is an ex-Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. A bureaucrat-turned-economist with a career spanning 35 years across a multitude of sectors. He served for nine years in the IAS prior to leaving government service. Thereafter, he worked as Senior Economist with the World Bank Group prior to moving to ADB. Until his appointment as CEO, AB - PMJAY, he served as Director-General, East Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He has held multiple positions within ADB including Director General, Strategy and Policy Department and led ADB’s engagement with the People's Republic of China (PRC), Hong Kong, Republic of Korea, Mongolia, and Taiwan including management of $12.6 billion portfolios comprising of 113 projects. Dr. Bhushan administered and provided oversight to sectors like energy, environment, natural resources and agriculture, transport, public management, financial sector and regional cooperation, urban and social development. He also supervised ADB’s resident missions in the People’s Republic of China and Mongolia.
Shri J. Satyanarayana
A member of Indian Administrative Service from 1977 Batch and AP Cadre, Sh. Satyanarayana has been Special Chief Secretary in the state of Andhra Pradesh. During his various assignments in Andhra Pradesh, he has served as Principal Secretary Health, Medical & Family Welfare Department, Principal Secretary IT and Communications and CEO of National Institute for Smart Government. Sh. Satyanarayana has made wide contributions to the cause of e-Governance. Founder of e-Seva, a one stop shop for citizen services, he was the one responsible for shaping NISG as a Centre of Excellence in e-Government consultancy and capacity building leading to formulation of e-Governance and Capacity Building Roadmaps for the State Governments and Union Territories in India.
Karan Singh is the managing partner of Bain & Company's India offices. He is a leader in Bain's healthcare practice. He was one of the founding partners who helped establish Bain's India business in 2006 and has more than 20 years of management consulting experience across Asia, Europe and the United States. Karan was most recently the leader of Bain's Healthcare practice in Asia Pacific, leading projects across healthcare delivery, medical devices and pharmaceuticals. His expertise includes transformation, turnaround and growth strategy, mergers and acquisitions, performance management and change management. He also has experience in supporting clients in the consumer products, financial services, industrial goods and services and private equity sectors. He has been a knowledge partner to NATHEALTH - Healthcare Federation of India and works with the Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation. He has also been a member of committees of leading business chambers such as CII. Karan earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Kaushik previously worked with management consulting firm Bain & Co. in Boston, Singapore and Delhi for over 11 years. At Bain, Kaushik worked extensively in Healthcare (Hospitals, pharma and medical devices) and Private Equity. When Bain opened an India office in 2005, He was an instrumental member in establishing the office. Kaushik was most recently a Principal in Bain India. In 2009, he left Bain to start Health spring. He is passionate about reforming the healthcare system in India, and providing consumers with a high quality, high service and ethical option for all their health care needs. He is also a Salzburg Global Fellow and was selected by the Economic Times as one of India's top 40 Young Business Leaders in 2017. He plays a key role in various industry bodies in Healthcare and Health Insurance and has been a featured speaker in International and national conferences.
Kshitij Bhotika is Business Head, Marketplace at Practo. He was earlier Associate Consultant, ZS Associates. He was co-founder, geometrybox.com, an online platform for school children to share and preserve their creativity. Geometry Box was used by K-12 schools. He was also co-founder, Greenbag, Pune which was set up as a social venture to control the consumption of plastic bags in the city by providing citizens with an NWPP alternative. The venture won numerous awards including ISB iDiya award for social impact ventures.
Manish Sardana, 22 years of overall experience, in sales, marketing and general management , in Pharmaceuticals and Med Tech. Presently operating in the role of Team Lead for India Business at Poly Medicure. Past experience has been with organizations like Terumo, Baxter, Karl Storz & Bausch+ Lomb. Mr. Sardana has a strong business and financial acumen with an expertise in building & turning around businesses and consolidating & maintaining an established business. His experience ranges from B to B (Business to Business) and B to C (Business to Consumers) business models. He is also an active member of Medical Tech trade forums like CII (Confederation of Indian Industry), FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce& Industry). He is actively engaged with NPPA (National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority), CDSCO & Department of Pharmaceuticals, Govt. of India for advocacy on med device regulations amidst the ever-changing environment and market place.

Prior to joining TRUE NORTH, Sumit was a Principal with Bain & Co. where he supported several domestic & multinational firms across sectors including industrial goods & services, textiles, chemicals, infrastructure, health care, consumer goods dealing with growth strategies, operational efficiency, cost reduction, organization effectiveness, etc. Before Bain, he helped set up an engine manufacturing plant for the Kirloskar Group and implement lean systems across their operations. Earlier, he worked with J&J Medical, where he managed the sales of cardiac devices.

Tushar brings 23 years of healthcare experience and has worked extensively to drive initiatives for the development of medical device firms in India. During this period, he establishes and manages key executive relationships with various stakeholders throughout the healthcare industry, with a focus on the application of the full spectrum of the company’s products, programs and services. He is currently the Managing Director & GM for India & South Asia since April 2011. Under his perfectionist drive, the company has grown as a strong leader in Coronary Therapy segment with Revenue market share of 60%. His current priorities include accelerating AV’s growth in the industry and enhance its inventive culture and brand. In his span of 18 years with Abbott, at multiple positions, Tushar has focused the company on strategic leadership, innovation and sustained market leadership position with his versatile experience. He is empaneled with various industry bodies such as FICCI, Am Cham, USIBC and CII.
Dr. Vikram Chatwal
With a diverse range of skillsets, Dr Vikaram Chatwal has proved his mettle in Management, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), start-ups, healthcare and strategic Planning. He is the Director and a board member of Medi Assist and has a known history of working in the hospital & health care industry. He is the Co- Chairman of the Entrepreneurship Committee at the Indian Merchants Chamber (IMC). He is also the former CEO of Reliance Health, a Reliance ADA Group Company and project leader in building the largest privately funded hospital, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital. Dr Chatwal has also been a part of the founding team of the largest Indian healthcare BPO and IT companies, Apollo Health Street Limited.
Vipin Pathak is the founder and CEO of Care24, a health services company that specializes in home-based professional care from trained caregivers for patients. Pathak’s brainchild Care24, headquartered in Mumbai, was founded with the idea of bringing about quality medical care to patients at their doorstep.
Vered is the Country Relations Director of India at Start-Up Nation Central. She was the Deputy Head of Trade & Economic Mission at the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi, since May 2015- July 2017 and was responsible for assisting Israeli companies and businesses in the Indian market, matching between the needs of Indian and the Israeli technologies and ‘Know how’s’ and also responsible for attracting Indian industrial and financial investments in Israel. Vered Mivtzari is Studio Director and owner of "V play Design Studio" and has been in the management since 1997. Besides this she was a Lecturer at HIT - Holon Institute of Technology, Department of Industrial Design 2008 - 2014. In previous years she was also a lecturer at Hadassah College (Jerusalem) and Shenkar College of Engineering and Design (Tel-Aviv). Vered is an Industrial designer, graduated from the Department of Industrial Design, Hadassah College - Jerusalem, 1995. She also has a BA in Business Management from the Thames Valley University London, 2002.
Dr. Vinod Paul
Professor Vinod K. Paul is a full time Member in NITI Aayog (National Institute of Transforming India). Dr Paul has been a member of the faculty at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi for over three decades and head of the Department of Paediatrics for several years. Apart from being an eminent neonatologist, Dr Paul has contributed to India’s national programmes including reproductive and child health; and nutrition. He is also a member of the Steering Committee of global Every Newborn Action Plan. He has chaired academic and selection committees of AIIMS, Raipur; chaired Technical Resources Group on Child Health, MoHFW, and co-chaired Himachal Pradesh State Commission on Health.
Dr. Vivek Desai
Dr Desai has been a special invitee at major industry bodies like Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), and the Indian Merchant Chambers (IMC), among others. He has also worked as an advisor to the World Bank, USAID, Indian Ministry of Health etc. He is a medical graduate with a post-graduation in hospital management and business management. His major areas of interest are strategic business planning, macro level project co- ordination and incubating new business ideas.
Wendy Singer has served as Executive Director of Start-Up Nation Central since its founding in 2013. She worked with the US-based funders to build the infrastructure and professional team in Israel, and to launch its initial activities – connecting Israel’s innovation ecosystem with government and business leaders around the world. Today she heads SNC’s Jerusalem operation and manages its engagements with foreign government leaders. Before joining SNC, Wendy concluded a 23-year career at AIPAC. She was Director of AIPAC's Israel Office for sixteen years. In that role, she and her team curated educational seminars in Israel for several dozen senior US lawmakers and political leaders annually. Wendy maintained relationships with Israeli ministers and senior government leaders, members of the opposition, and a wide range of MKs, in addition to US diplomats, and Palestinian officials. She reported to AIPAC-Washington on policy, security and political developments in Israel. Prior to emigrating to Israel, Wendy served as a registered lobbyist on Capitol Hill, where she was the lead contact for 20 Senators and 70 House Members. She also served as a staff aide for three Members of Congress, focusing on foreign policy issues.
